Voices in Performance Young Artist Program

Joyful singing
knows no age.

Believing in the unlimited potential of young people and the value of music education, Artistic Director Gail Suderman created the Voices in Performance (VIP) Young Artist Program to foster engagement and an appreciation for singing gospel music among youth in our communities. Since its inception, high school and community youth choirs have participated in gospel music workshops and performed with Good Noise in concert, both during the choir’s regular concert season and in special concert performances. This opportunity allows youth to gain valuable singing and performance experience as well as financial support for their choir and school music programs.

The Good Noise Scholarship & Bursary Fund provides promising college and university voice students support in their music education. Good Noise contributes scholarships to voice programs at Capilano University, Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and Vancouver Community College.

[Good Noise is] a choir with professional values that will challenge you and help you grow as a musician.

–Andre Baron, Baritone.

As Good Noise continues to work to build interest and excitement amongst young people for singing great gospel and gospel-influenced popular music, the choir is planning to establish the Good Noise Youth Gospel Choir.  Increased financial support for the VIP Young Artist Program will allow for the fulfillment of the original vision of the program – to include a vibrant, exciting new youth gospel choir under the umbrella of the Good Noise organization.

Singing is such a pure form of joy for me and an opportunity for magic to happen. Gail’s incredible talent, extensive knowledge, professionalism and ability to take the choir to new heights makes it an invaluable experience.
